Domaine Jean-Paul Dubost
It all started with Jean-Paul's grandfather, Jean-Aimé, winegrower in the village of Beaujeu. Later, in 1965, Henri, one of Jean-Aimé's sons and Jean-Paul's father, buys the Domaine du Tracot in Lantignié. The domaine du Tracot was founded in 1902 and has been managed successively by four generations of wine growers.
In 1993, Jean-Paul takes over the domaine that now boasts 32 hectares, in the village appellations of Lantignié, and a range of cru appellations. Dubost applies biodynamic and organic farming principles, however without certification, and practices a rather non-interventionist philosophy through the wine making process. He uses only natural yeast, no chemicals and minimal amounts of added sulfites. His purpose is to produce wines that express the qualities of the gamay variety, and their respective terroir.
